This video actually made me want to get one of the larger ones since I would most likely use it with diffusion anyway, so the less specular character is a good thing for me personally. I do agree that they might look a little less sparkly but I think it is hard to tell unless it is a real side by side. I think these definitely do have the advantages of real paras, they seem to be well made and the prices look good, especially since they all come with all accessories.
#Broncolor parabolic full
I like that they are showing actual un retouched close ups, there are a lot of variables and all the other samples are usually completely retouched and with full make up. The Godox appears much more flat in comparison. The godox to me seems to lack the soft yet specular 3D look of the Broncolor Paras. Does that seem to be the case to you as well? Broncolor seems to have more of a giant ring light quality in the flood position than Godox and the grid cuts the the light in the shadows and that brings out the ring light like highlights. It seems to me, from that video, is that the quality of light in the flood position is closer to that of Broncolor when you put a grid on it.

If you just want parabolic light characteristics, the Godox is certainly one (full spot with more specularity but not like a tiny source of light, full flood with specularity but smoother transition from light to shadow). The short version of it is if you want the exact light quality of the Broncolor, get the Broncolor (the silver material is different so can't expect they're the same). Has anyone done a comparison between the Godox and Broncolor parabolic reflectors? Inquiring minds want to know. I thought I knew.but is more than I thought. Its been hectic for us right now as we just got our first ever puppy and looks like I was not clear what I was signing up for. I will be working on the editing and sorting through all photos this week. Spoiler alert of my upcoming comparison.of all tested, the Parabolix comes closest to Broncolor.at least to my eyes. It doesn't provide the same lighting effect as Broncolor paras do.

Parabolix doesn't really become a giant ring light in defocused position. Which aspect of Parabolix that you think they wouldn't qualify as true parabolic reflectors? So, the important thing to find out whether that's the case. I think that Godox may possibly be the third at a fraction of the price, in which case, that would make it a tremendous deal. I don't expect much to be honest based on how it looks already but nothing to lose.įrankly, I don't expect much either given that Broncolor and Briese are the only companies making teue parabolics (AFAIK). I got in touch with the Selens people so let's see if they want to send one for review.
